Getting started
Can I prepare an inquiry without an account?
Yes. The service assistant, knowledge search and downloadable templates work without an account. Preparing a brief does not submit it or book an attendance.
What are the minimum details for a service request?
Give the vessel, port, system or symptom, request description, company, and a reachable email. Add a deadline and UTC offset when timing matters. Unknown equipment details can be marked as unknown.
Is this an emergency service channel?
No. For immediate danger, follow the vessel’s emergency procedures and contact the responsible authorities. Do not wait for an online reply.
Does a critical-priority request guarantee attendance?
No. Critical priority describes your timing constraint. Availability, scope, access, commercial approval, and any required authority must be confirmed in writing.
Can I request a preferred date?
Yes. Supply a preferred window, ETA, ETD, and UTC offset. It is a request, not a confirmed reservation.
Can I save an unfinished inquiry?
Yes. Select Save conversation. The conversation is stored in that browser, is not sent, and is not synchronized. Avoid saving personal or vessel-sensitive information on a shared device.
What happens when I download an inquiry?
A text brief is created on your device. Nothing is sent to the service desk. Store or share the file through your approved process.
Can I use the site without knowing the equipment model?
Yes. Describe the visible symptom and identify the equipment from existing records when available. You can say “not known” for missing details. Do not open equipment to find a label.
Service & scope
Can PELASTRION handle installation and retrofit inquiries?
The site accepts installation, retrofit, and repair-versus-replace inquiries for technical review. Equipment compatibility, work scope, delivery route, and availability are confirmed per job.
Is every technical service a regulated survey?
No. Diagnostics, repair, installation, and regulated tests or surveys can be different tasks. The requested output and applicable authority must be established separately.
Are all brands automatically supported?
No. Send the manufacturer, model, and task. Competence, tools, parts, restrictions, and any required authorization are reviewed before work is accepted.
Can work be reviewed remotely?
A technical inquiry may be suitable for supervised remote review. Access must follow the operator-approved method and does not replace onsite work or an approved test where required.
Should I reset or recalibrate equipment before asking?
Not on the basis of this website. Record the symptom and follow authorized onboard procedures. The guides do not instruct visitors to open, bypass, reset, or reprogram safety systems.
Can you decide whether my vessel may sail?
No. The website and its planning tools do not make operational, seaworthiness, class, flag, or departure decisions. Those remain with the responsible vessel personnel and authorities.
Can I request help for a yacht or commercial vessel?
Yes. Identify the vessel category and requested scope. Acceptance depends on equipment, competence, authority, location, access, and availability rather than the vessel label alone.
What happens when the scope changes onboard?
The intended process is to record the new finding, identify technical and commercial implications, and obtain the required approval before additional work. Job-specific terms control.
Parts & quotes
Are prices or stock levels shown live?
No. The parts assistant prepares a quotation brief. Availability, lead time, compatibility, shipping, and price require a PELASTRION quotation.
Can I request several parts together?
Yes. Describe each item in the conversation, including the model or part number and quantity. Your notes are included in the brief you can copy or download.
Can I request an alternative or exchange unit?
Yes. State your preference. No alternative is approved merely by choosing that preference; compatibility and commercial acceptance must be confirmed in writing.
Is downloading a brief a purchase order?
No. A downloaded brief is only a planning record. It does not authorize work, create an order, or reserve equipment.
Do you publish fixed labor rates?
Pricing is quoted against the agreed scope. Ask for the labor basis, travel, parts, freight, testing, reporting, exclusions, quote validity, and payment terms in a written quotation.
Can parts be delivered directly to a vessel?
Request the delivery port, receiving agent, required date, and handoff arrangement. Feasibility and responsibilities must be confirmed before dispatch.
Can I return an item immediately?
No. Start a warranty or return inquiry and wait for any required return authorization and shipping instructions. The inquiry does not establish warranty coverage.
Can I request a budget before finalizing a project?
Yes. Mark the request as budgetary and explain the assumptions. A planning estimate and a firm quotation are different commercial documents.
Credentials
How do individual qualifications and corporate certifications differ?
Individual qualifications document technical training or licensing. Corporate certification covers an organization and defined service scope. PELASTRION’s corporate certification program is underway; requirements are confirmed for each job.
What does “certification underway” mean?
The corporate certification process is in progress. Approvals will be listed as active once issued to PELASTRION. Ask which approvals and delivery arrangements apply to your requested task.
Can I obtain a copy of a credential?
Use Credentials & approvals to describe the equipment, task and document you need. The service desk can arrange the appropriate credential details for that scope.
Who issues a required compliance document?
PELASTRION is accountable for the agreed work. Where a regulated certificate is required, the applicable approval and authorized issuer are identified in the scope before work begins.
Is a repair report a survey certificate?
Not automatically. Ask the quote to name the deliverable and applicable issuer. The record must reflect the scope actually performed.
Does the planner calculate statutory due dates?
No. Enter due dates from controlled vessel records or responsible authority confirmation. The planner does not interpret survey windows or extend a certificate.
Coverage
Which ports should I select for a South Florida inquiry?
PELASTRION is based in South Florida, serving Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades, PortMiami and Palm Beach, with worldwide coverage for vessel service.
Can I request service elsewhere in the Americas or Caribbean?
Yes. Our global coverage includes the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Indian Ocean, Asia, Australia and the Pacific, and Africa. Provide the exact port, equipment and dates to establish the service plan.
What if the vessel changes berth or ETA?
Use Existing job update with the original reference and clearly state the revised details, UTC offset, and whether they are confirmed. Ask for written reconfirmation.
Who arranges port access?
The quotation and attendance plan should allocate access, escort, permits, safety arrangements, and receiving responsibilities between the vessel, agent, supplier, and relevant parties.
Is the coverage map a response-time promise?
No. Coverage indicates where inquiries may be considered. An attendance commitment exists only when accepted for the specific job.
Can an agent submit an inquiry for a vessel?
Yes. State your company, role, vessel, and who can approve work. Submission alone does not show purchasing or operational authority.
Self-service & privacy
Is this a live customer portal?
Not yet. The working self-service tools organize inquiries and planning records. There is no connected customer database, login, live tracking, or private-document repository on this site.
Can I look up a real job by typing its number?
No. The status page creates an update inquiry and explains the process. Real job data and documents require an authenticated or desk-verified handoff.
Are local drafts visible to PELASTRION?
No. The assistant does not send conversations to PELASTRION. Conversations you explicitly save stay in this browser. Copy or download a brief to share through your existing contact.
Does the site automatically save personal details?
No. Select Save conversation to keep a conversation on this device. Otherwise it is lost when you leave the page. Download a brief if you need a separate copy.
Can I upload drawings or certificates?
The public inquiry deliberately has no unrestricted file upload. Describe the document type and ask for a controlled transfer route. Do not include credentials, crew IDs, SSAS details, or recordings.
Does the service finder use AI to diagnose equipment?
No. It is a transparent, rule-based guide that recommends an inquiry route and relevant articles. It does not diagnose, operate equipment, or authorize work.
Can I export or remove local records?
Yes. Download your brief for a separate copy. Under Saved conversations, use Delete to remove a saved conversation from this browser. Downloaded files must be removed separately.
Will the vessel planner send reminders while I am away?
No. The assistant records dates you provide in your brief. It does not monitor deadlines, synchronize records or send reminders.
Can I use this on a phone?
The site is responsive and supports mobile navigation, service assistants, search, planning, and exports. Device download and print behavior may vary.
What does preview mode mean?
The guided conversation, brief review, copying, downloads and device saving are available. Live AI, service-desk delivery and job tracking are pending. Preparing a brief does not send a request or confirm a booking.
Can I request an invoice correction?
Choose Accounts & billing, include the relevant reference and the requested correction, and leave out payment credentials, bank details, and card numbers.
Can a supplier introduce its capabilities?
Start a business inquiry and describe your company, topic and preferred next step. The assistant can prepare a brief for your existing PELASTRION contact.
Mechanical service
Can PELASTRION help with inboard and outboard engine faults?
Yes. PELASTRION offers engine diagnostics, preventive maintenance, cooling, fuel, starting, charging, sensor, alarm and performance support. Acceptance depends on the engine, task, access, competence, parts, insurance, and any manufacturer-specific requirements.
Can I request a sea trial?
You can request performance-support or sea-trial planning. A sea trial is not confirmed by the website and is accepted only with an agreed purpose, responsible vessel personnel, safe operating conditions, insurance, and any required specialist or manufacturer procedure.
Do you perform major engine rebuilds?
Send the engine, symptom, desired outcome, and available service history. PELASTRION assesses major internal engine work against the equipment, tooling, parts and authorization required, then confirms the accepted scope and delivery plan.
Deck machinery
Can PELASTRION repair marine cranes and davits?
The site accepts hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, control-system, hose, cylinder, pump, valve, motor, relay, switch, sensor, and general deck-machinery repair inquiries. Structural, certified load-test, class, or lifting-appliance certification work is separated and routed appropriately.
Is operational testing the same as certified load testing?
No. An operational check within a repair scope is different from a proof-load test or a regulated certification. The required competent person, test equipment, witness, approved organization, and final document are confirmed for the actual vessel and task.
Electrical systems
Can you troubleshoot 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V DC systems?
Send the nominal voltage and affected circuit. The service desk can assess battery, charging, distribution, wiring, control, pump, lighting, windlass, thruster, grounding, and related DC faults within verified competence and a safe isolation plan.
Can I request battery-bank replacement or reconfiguration?
Yes, as a technical review and quotation request. Battery type, capacity, charging sources, cable protection, ventilation, physical restraint, monitoring, and vessel requirements must be reviewed before any replacement or reconfiguration is accepted.
Will the website tell me which fuse or wire to install?
No. The public site is for inquiry preparation and general planning, not live electrical instructions. Circuit protection, conductor sizing, isolation, and fault-finding decisions belong to qualified personnel working from the actual vessel installation and applicable requirements.
Still need a specific answer?
Bring your vessel, system and question into a service conversation.
