Being named as a certificate holder is different from additional insured status. Where required, the policy and applicable endorsement must support that status.
Confirm that the proposed activity and location fit the policy. Marine liability, completed operations and other relevant coverage are reviewed for the particular assignment.
Follow the vessel’s emergency procedures first. When safe, record the time, location, job reference, factual observations and parties involved. Preserve relevant photographs and documents.
Use the agreed PELASTRION contact and the notification procedure in the relevant policy or contract. A website conversation does not notify an insurer or lodge a claim. Avoid entering sensitive claim or medical documents into a general inquiry.
