Share technical information without sharing secrets

The initial public inquiry is for the minimum facts needed to route work. Supporting evidence often needs a different, access-controlled channel.

Use the service conversation sparingly

Do not submit crew identity documents, account credentials, SSAS configurations, bank details, private recordings, or detailed security arrangements. Mention that a document exists and ask how to transmit it safely.

Verify the recipient

Before sending sensitive material, independently confirm the intended recipient and the approved transfer method. A request for new bank details, a password, or an unusual access method should be verified using a known contact route.

Limit and label the package

Provide only material relevant to the agreed task. Identify the vessel, job reference, document version, and handling restrictions. Ask who will have access, how long the information is needed, and how final documents will be returned.

Information to prepare

  • Agreed recipient and transfer route
  • Access and retention expectations
  • Version and job reference
This page is a planning aid. It does not authorize equipment changes, replace manufacturer instructions, determine vessel readiness, or establish a company approval. Use the vessel’s procedures and an appropriately qualified and approved delivery route.
