Match the record to the job
Check vessel, equipment model and serial, attendance dates, agreed scope, and the performing entity. Confirm that approved scope changes and fitted parts are reflected.
Look for results and limits
The record should distinguish work performed, observations, tests within scope, results, and unresolved items. Ask for clarification when “completed” is used without explaining an outstanding defect or external review.
Keep follow-up ownership clear
Record who will address each open item and where supporting documents are retained. Update the vessel’s controlled history through the authorized process. A report download in a browser is not a monitored maintenance record.
