Understand job stages and request a meaningful update

A useful update tells you the current stage, the unresolved dependency, the responsible person, and the next agreed update. A generic “in progress” is not enough.

Distinguish the stages

Typical service stages are inquiry, scope review, quote, customer acceptance, attendance preparation, work, technical review, and closeout. These stages are a process model, not live data about your vessel.

Ask about the dependency

Request clarification of missing equipment details, access, purchase approval, parts availability, an engineer window, or issuer review. Identify who can resolve the dependency and what the customer needs to provide.

Use the status inquiry responsibly

Provide the existing reference and a known contact email. This build does not expose live customer records or private reports. A real status response needs desk verification; entering a reference does not grant access to a job.

Information to prepare

  • Existing desk-issued job or inquiry reference
  • Vessel and requesting company
  • Specific update needed
  • Known contact and next decision deadline
This page is a planning aid. It does not authorize equipment changes, replace manufacturer instructions, determine vessel readiness, or establish a company approval. Use the vessel’s procedures and an appropriately qualified and approved delivery route.
